Common Garbage Disposal Repair Issues
- Clogs: Clogs can happen from a variety of substances poured into a disposal, such as grease and fibrous tissue. Our plumbers will use products that are safe for your drains, and if necessary, will clean out the P trap or snake the drain.
- Stuck Object: Sometimes a piece of silverware or a tough piece of food can get jammed into the disposal, and trying to remove the object yourself could cause damage. Unplug the disposal, and contact a Putman plumber to remove it.
- Overload: When your disposal is overloaded, it has a feature that automatically shuts it off to prevent it from getting too hot. You can try hitting the reset button, but if that doesn’t work, contact a plumber since it may require some electrical work.
