Our beginning

Patrick Putman

Patrick Putman, founder of Putman Plumbing, built his career on a foundation of hard work, discipline, and deep technical knowledge. In 1988, Patrick founded Putman Plumbing with a clear vision: to deliver honest, high-quality plumbing services across both residential and light commercial sectors. Patrick’s devotion to well-rounded expertise, commitment to doing things the right way and his ability to connect with people established the standard the company continues to uphold today.

Beyond being technically sound Patrick built the company on pride in educating customers, believing that informed clients make better decisions and that collaboration leads to better outcomes. His approach helped build long-standing relationships and a reputation rooted in trust.

After decades of leadership, Patrick has stepped away from the daily operations, proudly passing the company on to the next generation of his family. His legacy continues through the values he instilled, integrity, craftsmanship, and a commitment to serving others.

Patrick now invests his time fully to his wife of over 50 years and takes pride in the accomplishments of his 3 children and 9 grandchildren.

Marlena Putman

Marlena Putman has been an integral part of Putman Plumbing since its earliest days, helping shape the company’s foundation alongside its founding in 1988. She supported the business through its formative years until 1993, before stepping away to focus on serving the community through her work with children in the Frederick County Public Schools system.

In 2001, Marlena returned to Putman Plumbing as a Call Taker and Dispatcher, stepping into a critical role during a period of growth. With a natural ability to connect with people and an eye for organization, she helped streamline operations while ensuring every customer interaction reflected the company’s values. She later took on marketing and client awareness efforts, continually refining how Putman Plumbing presents itself and strengthening the relationships that drive long-term trust.

Marlena has always believed that the first impression matters. Her focus on communication, care, and consistency helped define the customer experience that the company is known for today.

Now retired, Marlena’s influence remains woven into the culture of Putman Plumbing, seen in its commitment to service, community, and personal connection.

Marlena now invests her time fully to her husband of over 50 years and is the Western Maryland Chapter President of Aglow Women’s Ministry.
